Mary Bierbaum, formerly Mary Gilmore, is married to Tom Bierbaum. She was an avid fan of the DC Comics series Legion of Super-Heroes. Due to being a member of Interlac, a group of Legion of Super-Heroes fans, she met her future husband, Tom.

Mary Bierbaum is part of a writing duo with her husband. She is mostly known for their work on Legion of Super-Heroes, which was the series that got Mary and her husband into comic writing in the first place.
